My Go-To AI Tools for Modern Marketing & Sales
Look, I get it - another post about AI. But ever since these tools hit the mainstream a few years ago, the conversation has swung from hype to panic and back again more times than I can count. Between the nonstop product releases and the strong opinions across the spectrum, it’s easy to feel like you’re either “all in” or “completely over it.”
I tend to fall somewhere in the middle: curious enough to experiment, but grounded enough not to chase every new tool. And because I work across marketing and sales, I’ve naturally tested a handful of tools to see what actually helps - not just what sounds impressive.
The list below isn’t meant to be definitive. It’s simply the small set of AI tools that consistently make my work faster, clearer, or more creative.
ChatGPT
ChatGPT’s writing and reasoning engine makes it ideal for outlining, drafting, rewriting, messaging, and creative ideation. I use it whenever I need clarity fast or want a solid first pass on strategy, content, or operational thinking.
Gemini
Gemini’s multimodal system excels at generating images and exploring visual directions. I use it for moodboards, concepts, and early creative exploration before bringing in a designer.
ElevenLabs
ElevenLabs’ voice engine produces natural-sounding synthetic audio that’s great for rapid prototyping. I use it to test voiceover scripts, iterate on tone and pacing, and build proof-of-concept content before involving a VO artist.
Descript
Descript’s text-based editing workflow makes audio and video cleanup fast and accessible. I use it for quick rough cuts, pairing VO with visuals, and polishing early drafts of content without having to open a full editing suite.
Perplexity
Perplexity’s real-time research engine is excellent for pulling accurate, current information with citations. I use it for competitive scans, market context, trend research, and prepping for client meetings when I need fast situational awareness.
HubSpot AI Tools
HubSpot’s AI features help streamline CRM hygiene, email drafts, and quick content suggestions. I use them for rewrites, contact enrichment, and keeping marketing ops clean inside an existing HubSpot environment.
Notion AI
Notion’s AI layer helps turn scattered content into organized, usable structure. I use it for content planning, consolidating brand guidelines, and keeping all client materials in one searchable place. It makes it easier to maintain a unified creative and brand workflow across multiple projects.
Final Thought
AI continues to evolve at a stunning pace - and that’s the point. Your stack should change as your needs change. What matters isn’t memorizing every tool in the ecosystem, but building a workflow that helps you think more clearly, create more efficiently, and operate with fewer bottlenecks.
If you’re exploring how AI might fit into your own marketing or sales process, I’m always happy to compare notes.
